Thanks to everyone who volunteered to maintain the tools pages after
my request last month. We currently have three tool pages
(GC Log Analysers,
Multi-Tenancy JVMs and Books)
and I'm proposing to add more tools pages from the back catalog of
tools I've covered over the last 163 newsletters (and future ones).

Get total visibility in just 15 minutes with AppDynamics PRO,
A performance monitoring tool for Java/.NET apps.
It installs in minutes. Start your FREE TRIAL today.
Here's an initial list of tool pages I'm considering adding:
- sizeof tools
- profilers
- logging tools
- primitive collections
- collections
- thread analysers
- off-heap tools
- Application performance management (APM) tools
- monitoring tools
- concurrency frameworks
- concurrency analysis tools
- sorting frameworks
- load testing tools
- I/O analysis tools
- Big data tools
- OS tuning tools
- UI tuning
- GC tuning (apart from log analysers)
- load testing
- capacity management
- client-server frameworks
If you have any ideas for categories, please do suggest them to
me. Bear in mind, I haven't added the words "Java performance" at the
beginning of each category, but that is what the tools page will be
relevant to, I have no intention of expanding to cover more generic
tools. So, for example, the logging tools page is actually "Java
performance relevant logging tools", not a general page for logging tools
Finally since you're interested in my newsletters, you might also be
interested in the Practical Performance Analyst portal,
which is creating a community and associated body of knowledge around
Systems Performance Engineering. They have a more general performance
focus than Java performance, but then so do a lot of you! And now back
to our Java performance focus with all our usual sections: links to
articles, tools, news and as ever, all the
extracted tips from all of this month's referenced articles.
