The current AI excitement, generative AI (GenAI) with large language models (LLMs), hasn't directly benefitted Java performance yet. What we are seeing emerging is a simplified ability to interact with monitoring and analysis systems. Soon you'll be able to ask "what was different in the last hour and a half from normal activity?" and the system will be able to answer you intelligibly.
You'll then be able to ask for more details like "what caused X to increase beyond normal activity" and not only get a useful answer but also details with graphs and profiles. This is a step change in WHO can effectively analyze issues in a system - far more people can ask and understand these types of questions and answers than have the expertise to delve into metrics, logs, traces and profiles, identify causes and propose fixes.
Now on to all the usual newsletter list of links, tips, tools, news and articles, and as usual I've extracted all the tips into this month's tips page
